Ricinus communis

Dense, glossy and slow. Draws moisture toward the hair shaft and the lash and brow line, and gives the blend its weight and its shine.

Argan

Argania spinosa

Cold-pressed from the kernels of the Moroccan argan tree. Rich in vitamin E and oleic acid; softens hair and skin without sitting on top of them.

Jojoba

Simmondsia chinensis

Structurally a liquid wax rather than an oil, and closer to human sebum than anything else in nature. It balances rather than saturates.

Sweet Almond

Prunus dulcis

Gentle and emollient, used for centuries to settle dryness and irritation. The quietest oil in the blend, and the reason it suits sensitive skin.

Calming

Macadamia

Macadamia integrifolia

High in palmitoleic acid, which the skin loses with age. It disappears quickly, carrying the heavier oils in with it.

Absorbing

Avocado

Persea americana

Deeply penetrating and unusually rich in vitamins A, D and E. Reserved in the blend for skin that has been stripped, weathered or over-washed.

Rosa canina

Cold-pressed from the seed. Naturally occurring retinoic and linoleic acids refine tone and texture over weeks, not days.
