Macadamia Oil: What It Is and How to Use It

Macadamia oil is pressed from the nuts of the macadamia tree, which is native to eastern Australia. SEVN uses Macadamia integrifolia.

Allergy note: macadamias are tree nuts. Do not use macadamia oil if you have a nut allergy.

What is macadamia oil made of?

It is mostly oleic acid and also contains palmitoleic acid, a fatty acid found in few other plant oils.

What does it feel like?

Macadamia oil feels light and smooth, and it glides easily over skin. It is a useful partner for thicker oils.

How to use macadamia oil on skin

Press a few drops onto damp skin after washing or bathing, then smooth them over the area.

How to use macadamia oil on hair

Warm a few drops in your palms and run them through the mid-lengths and ends for a soft, smooth finish.

Macadamia oil vs sweet almond oil

Both feel light and both come from tree nuts. Macadamia feels a little smoother, and sweet almond has the longer history in massage.

Macadamia in SEVN

Macadamia gives the SEVN blend a smooth, easy glide and lightens heavier oils such as castor. See all seven oils in The Blend.
